Nintendo Nexus Official Relaunch

The Show Must Go On

Testing. Testing. Mic check. Wrong type of content for making that joke, I know.

Greetings, to all of our wonderful fans. If you’re new to the website, welcome back. If you’re not new, then we’d still like to welcome you.

I’ll keep this update brief to inform everyone about the current status of the website. Nintendo Nexus was founded back at the start of 2023 by a small group of friends (Myself (Michael, aka Steve Ocean), Logan (Previous Owner, aka Senor Armstrong), Ryan (aka Mr Marett), and Dan (aka, The Pope)) to share our interest in Nintendo products and teach each of us more about running a website, managing content, writing, all the things you’d expect from handling a project like this. As time went on, some of us would gradually step back from the website, being involved in less daily operations due to other obligations.

While the website was able to begin accumulating a decent number of you viewing articles and checking pages, the previous website owner, Logan, decided to close down the website in March, having become too busy to effectively manage the website. As a result of hosting fees no longer being paid, the website was shut down unexpectedly.

After discovering what had happened, the rest of us contacted Logan and were able to gain permission to take the site back over. Unfortunately, if you know anything about webhosting, most companies aren’t very inclined to keep your data stored for long if you aren’t paying. As a result, we were unable to just flick a switch and get the website back up and running. To put it simply, we’ve had to rebuild the website from scratch.

So What Happens Next?

Because of this, it took us some time to work everything out and get the website looking presentable again. While we did consider restoring an old (And I mean really old) backup we had, after consideration, it was decided it would be better to start anew rather than drop 100 outdated articles and reviews on everyone to read.

As a result, previous content from the website will be sitting on our drives in the old archives. While we may consider re-uploading some of the old reviews and editorials to a special section of the website at some point, we’ll be keeping this content down for now.

Furthermore, we’ve also restructured the team here slightly. I will be taking over ownership of the website while Ryan will be our main writer and editor, with Dan helping out on the writing, editing, and the occasional bit of SEO work. Logan will no longer be involved with the website, and we’re parting ways on this project on good terms with him.

In the meantime, we’ll keep working on the website here to bring all of you the daily news about Nintendo platforms and products. We hope that you’ll continue to check back and follow us in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

Until next time, catch you next time everyone.
