Summer Game Fest Confirmed to Return in 2025

The Show Returns

With an official end to E3 in 2023, the opportunity for a new major games exposé to take the spotlight has been on many people’s minds around this time of year. As some have already looked at other conventions, this year marked the fifth official Summer Game Fest, as many companies and studios participated to show off their latest and upcoming work.

Despite the large number of viewers and attendees getting an opportunity to enjoy the reveals for some big name releases later this year, the Summer Game Fest received a rather lukewarm reception from many fans, feeling that the pacing and games revealed didn’t meet expectations, as some of the larger studios such as Nintendo, continue to opt for putting on their own showcases rather than attending.

However, this reaction doesn’t appear to have deterred the show’s host, Geoff Keighley.

2025 Confirmed

Shortly after the Summer Game Fest ended, Keighley quickly came forward with a surprise announcement for viewers that the show already had plans to return the following year in June, 2025. While no specific date is given, it can safely be presumed that we’ll see the Summer Game Fest return around the same date next year with a new lineup of games to show off. In the meantime, we’ll need to wait for further details before knowing who will return, or take to the stage.
