Shovel Knight Deluxe Edition and More Announced by Yacht Club Games

10 Years of Shovel Knight

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Shovel Knight, developer Yacht Club Games put on a special presents premiere for the franchise to reveal some big announcements for fans of the Shovel Knight games.

Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX

Perhaps the main highlight of the presentations, Yacht Club Games has announced that a special deluxe edition remaster of Shovel Knight, titled Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX, will be released in the future.

Not only is this version set to bring a new wave of challenges and other content to enhance playthroughs, but will also include over 20 new playable characters that were previously present in the games, but not available for use in any story campaigns, multiplayer, new customization features, a cheat mode and save states, new graphics options, and more. An official release date and further platform information is expected to be revealed at a later date along with the price.

A New Mainline Game

It has also been announced by the company that a new mainline Shovel Knight game is currently in the works. While the team doesn’t have any specific information or gameplay that they are ready to show off, this is confirmed to be a whole new adventure similar to the original game, rather than a spinoff title set in the Shovel Knight universe.

While we can only guess what this will include until a future announcement is made, for now, the developers have hinted that players may be able to find clues and other hidden details by carefully checking the contents of their other games, such as Shovel Knight Dig, Pocket Dungeon, and the Treasure Trove collection.

Merchandise, DLC, and More

Besides the DX edition and new game announcements, fans of other titles from the sudio can also expect 2 new free DLCs for the spinoff game, Shovel Knight Dig, that will bring new challenges and adventures, alongside a large number of bug fixes and other improvements. We can also expect to receive the new first of three DLCs for Pocket Dungeon, with this DLC being titled, the Paradox Pack. Lastly, there will be some special merchandise available for fans, such as a new artbook featuring 10 years of artwork from each of the adventures, and upcoming collaborations with other games.
